One of my all-time greatest idols, and a person I looked very much up to the Danish astronomer and physicist Jens Martin Knudsen. As a professor at the University of Copenhagen, he was loved by his students, and his door was always open; whether had it been a freshman or a student studying for his Masters-degree.

He once said:

[1]

which translates into English as

If I were to write the History of Denmark it would contain four chapters. One about each of the following persons: Tycho Brahe, Ole Rømer, Hans Christian Ørsted og Niels Bohr. The rest is to be considered as nothing but an unimportant footnote

If I were given the task of (re)writing the History of Denmark, I cover the four aforementioned persons, but I'd also include a chapter on Jens Martin Knudsen - The Danish Martian.

Next proverb; back in the days, philosopher and mathematician Rene Descartes once said in French what was later translated to Latin as "Cogito, ergo sum" - "I think, therefore I exist". Recently this proverb has really been making sense to me

... to be continued...
