Smartphones have become very useful in healthcare[citation needed] and eventually may be indispensible in may cases.[citation needed] Although they are mainly used by healthcare workers and patients to phone for pizza at this point in time.[dubious ][citation needed]

History

The first use of personal communication devices for health purposes was possibly in 1966 with Gene Roddenberry's invention of the medical tricorder.[1]

Apps

Applictations (more commonly 'apps') are software programs that are used with moblie devices in healthcare.
