@WhisperToMe: I've had the usual inability to find time for this lately and plenty of stuff backing up in the meantime, so sorry in not getting back to you. The Elmer E. Rasmuson Library has copies of most editions of the Alaska Education Directory going back to the 1922–1923 school year. The territorial education department was established in 1917, but I have no idea if the publication started at that point. A wealth of information to be sure, but I haven't had the time to go through them like I have with other reference works. It appears that the edition you link to above was the last one published, replaced by the state website as was the case with other print publications put out by state government.
