Template Origins

Hello, I am the maker of this template. I have no idea how suitable it is for some of the pages on which it is, so I have just put it on all of the pertaining pages, and I shall let others decide. Thanks. Lofty 19:23, 29 July 2006 (UTC)[reply]

I've converted this navigational template to a footer in line with other similar nav boxes that have been created and merged in the info from Template:Major settlements in Lincs which was basically repetition. MRSC 20:15, 31 July 2006 (UTC)[reply]

Ceremonial/entire county or admin county only?

Should this infobox relate to Lincolshire irredentia, from Humber to Wash, or only to the administrative county? Use of the flag would suggest the former ... in which case I'll add Districts: North East Lincolnshire | North Lincolnshire, Other settlements: Grimsby | Scunthorpe etc., Parliamentary Constituencies: Great Grimsby etc. Yes? No objections since March, so I've gone ahead and done this. Also added a link to the flag page as per Wiltshire. OK? TheVenerableBede (talk) 14:19, 27 November 2007 (UTC)[reply]

I've reverted the change back to the old county-council-area-only version. Other county navboxes (Somerset, Durham) relate to the entire ceremonial county so Lincolnshire's should too. The fact that they are in "Yorkshire Region and contribute to Humberside Constabulary" is not relevant. TheVenerableBede (talk) 10:45, 20 February 2008 (UTC)[reply]

I'd have to agree. The rest of country demarc their navigation templates according to the Ceremonial counties of England. -- Jza84 · (talk) 15:32, 4 March 2008 (UTC)[reply]

Really we need to convert this template to Template:County, as used by Template:Merseyside, Template:Lancashire, Template:South Yorkshire, Template:Warwickshire, Template:Greater Manchester, Template:Cumbria, Template:Cambridgeshire etc etc. It wouldn't be a big change, more cosmetic than anything else to bring this inline with the rest of England. -- Jza84 · (talk) 15:32, 4 March 2008 (UTC)[reply]

I've just actioned it. -- Jza84 · (talk) 15:39, 4 March 2008 (UTC)[reply]

The latest version lists the Unitary authorities and the Districts, but not the County Council. Brunnian (talk) 09:28, 17 March 2008 (UTC)[reply]

Inclusion criteria

I have applied the inclusion criteria for the major settlements section, which have been used on other county templates. This means that all towns and cities are included (whatever their size), and all villages with a population of 10k or more.

Therefore, I have removed Chapel St Leonards, Donington, Ingoldmells, Sutton-on-Sea from the list as none of them are towns, and all with <10k populations. Bazonka (talk) 20:31, 2 September 2021 (UTC)[reply]
