Template talk:From Camerapedia

Usage

To credit Camerapedia in general, add {{From Camerapedia}} to the article.

To credit a particular article titled XXXX within Camerapedia, add {{From Camerapedia|XXXX}} to the article. (For example, {{From Camerapedia|Pentax}}.) If the title of the article includes one or more spaces, use underline(s) instead; for example, {{From Camerapedia|Guess_focusing}}.

Why the awkwardness?

Because Camerapedia does not (yet) appear within the Interwiki map, the template cannot (yet) be rewritten to create such simple links as [[Camerapedia:Fuji|Fuji]], and instead has to create the slightly awkward [http://camerapedia.org/wiki/Fuji Fuji]. There's no handy pipe character ("|"), and there's a certain degree of potential ambiguity: thus the need for underline(s).

I've added the 'localurl' parser function to the template. This replaces spaces with underscores and encodes other characters. So I've edited the articles that use this template with underscores in the parameter, and replaced them with spaces. Works so far! --Imroy 20:34, 26 March 2007 (UTC)[reply]
Unfortunately the syntax of the history page URL in Camerapedia differs from that in Wikipedia. This prevents from using the 'localurl' function to point to Camerapedia's history page. --Rebollo fr (talk) 09:04, 27 November 2007 (UTC)[reply]
