Template talk:COVID-19 pandemic in New Zealand

'People' removed

I have removed the "People" field as we will not be listing COVID-19 cases other than deaths. If they are involved in some other way (such as a public health official) then this would be allowed. Elizium23 (talk) 01:09, 5 April 2020 (UTC)[reply]

Well, and I have reverted that edit; they aren't sick or dead in any form of shape. Schwede66 06:08, 5 April 2020 (UTC)[reply]
OK, well, sorry, the others weren't. Elizium23 (talk) 06:11, 5 April 2020 (UTC)[reply]
@Elizium23: Sorry to be a pain but they aren't all officials. One is a scientist who is educating the population in her own time and another person is a cartoonist who assists the scientist. Maybe have "People" and then level two headings for "officials" and "others"? Schwede66 06:51, 5 April 2020 (UTC)[reply]

Companies

I suspect that many companies will get into significant trouble over this so maybe it's a good idea to think about inclusion criteria. I suggest that the company needs to have an article AND be based in New Zealand (or have a significant operation in NZ) AND mentioned in this article AND have either folded OR laid off a significant number of staff. What's a significant number? Maybe 100 staff? Thoughts? Schwede66 05:53, 10 April 2020 (UTC)[reply]

Yes, should be included if the company was significantly impacted by CoVid e.g. closed completely, put into hibernation for a time, shrank by a large margin (probably 100 people affected is a reasonable ballpark) etc. Flight Centre probably qualifies, although the NZ business doesn't have a WP page. If a company is listed on the template, it should be clear in the article what the impact of CoVid was on the company. NZME needs that detail added. MurielMary (talk) 23:38, 13 April 2020 (UTC)[reply]
Dealt with. Schwede66 00:52, 14 April 2020 (UTC)[reply]
Russell McVeagh is doing something new and they are the first in Aotearoa to do so: from 1 November, you will have to be double-vaxxed to get into their office, and it covers staff, customers, and visitors. I'm sure others will follow this example. Is it worth adding them? It's referenced in their article. Schwede66 01:23, 15 October 2021 (UTC)[reply]
Almost without exception, every company in the country was affected by pandemic; making staff cuts, introducing vaccination requirements etc. This is really just a random list and serves no real purpose. Would support its abolition entirely. Zoltyge (talk) 04:00, 27 October 2022 (UTC)[reply]
How so? It's not random at all. See the suggested criteria in the very first post under this heading. Schwede66 03:14, 28 October 2022 (UTC)[reply]

Extra Bracket after Michael Woodhouse

Hi team, There's an extra ) after Michael Woodhouse. I don't feel comfortable editing the template myself, because when I looked at the source code, everything seemed right. Thanks! Nauseous Man (talk) 06:43, 16 November 2021 (UTC)[reply]

Nauseous Man, there is a pair of brackets for the members of the Epidemic Response Committee. I don’t know whether that is the most elegant way of doing it. But at least it reflects the code. Schwede66 17:06, 16 November 2021 (UTC)[reply]
Schwede66 oh duh. My mistake sorry! Is it possible to have a line-break between the govt politicians, then the Epidemic Response Committee, and then the tangental politicians? Might be visually easier to follow. Nauseous Man (talk) 18:54, 16 November 2021 (UTC)[reply]
Nauseous Man, like so? Schwede66 20:42, 16 November 2021 (UTC)[reply]
Schwede66 that looks a lot better to me! Will see what others think... Nauseous Man (talk) 21:08, 16 November 2021 (UTC)[reply]
