ABVP not a member of BJP

ABVP is not a member of BJP.

My family has had extensive ties with ABVP at national and state levels. ABVP is the student branch of RSS, not BJP. This is a common misconception (eg:IBN, but see the official position ABVP and TimesOfIndia. Furthermore, BJP was established in 1980, ABVP was established in 1949, even before Jansangh was established (1951). Veryhuman (talk)

It is true that officially ABVP is not member of BJP, but it shows significant role in activities related to BJP. In media, many times ABVP is treated as student wing of BJP.[1][2].

To put ABVP in BJP's wings/forum is not true. It is a separate entity altogether. Ideologically, takes inspiration from RSS, legally speaking ABVP is also not a forum/part of RSS. It is a completely independent entity. But when people say its a parivar organisation. They are not wrong. — Preceding unsigned comment added

Party Leaders

Dr Subramanian Swamy has been outside BJP for most his career of over 40 years and has been the President of Janata Party ,he is not an MP or hold any Party or Ministerial position in the BJP to put him along side Vajpayee or Advani is wrong similarly Maneka Gandhi was in the Congress then Janata Dal later Chandrasekhar's party and then BJP and she is only a Minister and holds no position and is not a Senior Leader in BJP ,Shivraj Singh Chouhan,Raman Singh or Vasundhara Raje are more senior but we cannot add everyone in the template.Added Amit Shah as he is the seen the number 2 in the party.Pharaoh of the Wizards (talk) 07:37, 21 October 2014 (UTC)[reply]

As per above removed Dr Subramanian Swamy and even Arun Shourie was minister and a journalist but we cannot add every minister to the template.Pharaoh of the Wizards (talk) 06:38, 9 November 2014 (UTC)[reply]

I also want to make a change in the list of presidents of the Bharatiya Janata Party as the tenure of Amit Shah as President ended on 20th January 2020 and Jagat Prakash Nadda took over the formal Presidency on the same date after having held the duty as the Working President till 20th January 2020. 27.56.138.186 (talk) 05:50, 30 January 2020 (UTC)[reply]
