Nicholas Laucella

Created by 2620:65:8000:A203:6927:F7F5:7EC8:DC5 (talk). Nominated by Gerda Arendt (talk) at 20:01, 17 July 2019 (UTC).

Length and history are good. Sources establish that Laucella was with the Philharmonic at that time; however they do not concurrently reference Mahler as conductor. Am I missing something, or could another source be added? Daniel Case (talk) 19:43, 13 August 2019 (UTC)
You mean I have to add a source such this to the article, because it just is so that he was chief conductor at the time, although it has nothing to do with the flutist? --Gerda Arendt (talk) 20:04, 13 August 2019 (UTC)
Well, you wrote the hook that included it. So yes ... Daniel Case (talk) 22:58, 13 August 2019 (UTC)
I hope I will not forget to remove it afterwards. --Gerda Arendt (talk) 05:43, 14 August 2019 (UTC)
Good to go. I'm sorry you feel that way, but I have had enough experience with hooks I nominated where the supplied sources did not completely support the facts in the hook to not let anyone else off the, ahem, hook either. Daniel Case (talk) 19:44, 14 August 2019 (UTC)
  • Isn't it "flautist"? And why is this hook hooky? It just sounds like name-dropping. Yoninah (talk) 22:05, 15 August 2019 (UTC)
"flautist" sounds pretty old-fashioned to me, good for players of recorder, flauto traverso ... - I used "principal flute" on purpose. We could stop the hook after "1909", - it's interesting that an Italian guy made it to that top position at the time. Mahler adds context, and some will think of him as in Vienna, and not even know that he was there at all. --Gerda Arendt (talk) 22:12, 15 August 2019 (UTC)
  • OK. Restoring tick per Daniel Case's review. Yoninah (talk) 22:44, 15 August 2019 (UTC)
  • @Gerda Arendt: I just read and edited the whole article. Nowhere does it say "principal flute". He's always referred to as a "flautist". Yoninah (talk) 22:55, 15 August 2019 (UTC)
I am only the nominator. Change if you have to. I just can tell you what I said above. The position in an orchestra is "principal flute". --Gerda Arendt (talk) 23:00, 15 August 2019 (UTC)
  • @Gerda Arendt: If you are the nominator, I would assume you would make sure the article is in shape before nominating. As the promoter, I did just that. And I changed it to "principal flute". You're welcome. Yoninah (talk) 23:18, 15 August 2019 (UTC)
