Island of stability

  • ... that among the heaviest known chemical elements, there may be an island of stability where atomic nuclei become more stable? Source: "Element 117’s existence gives scientists hope, however, that they are getting closer to discovering a rumored “island of stability” where nuclei with so-called magic numbers of protons and neutrons become long-lived."

This one is close to my heart. Recently passed GA, so I'm passing on cite checking. DYK check otherwise green. I like the ALT1 personally. Maury Markowitz (talk) 17:42, 25 April 2019 (UTC)
  • @Maury Markowitz: GAs are not evaluated by the same criteria as DYKs, and we've sometimes found problems in them. Pleaseprovide a review that explicitly confirms that the five main DYK criteria have been met. And what is going on with the notes? The first seven are uncited, and the last is a dumping ground for cites. Yoninah (talk) 22:54, 29 April 2019 (UTC)
  • @Yoninah: What notes/cites are you referring to; are they pertinent to the article itself? ComplexRational (talk) 01:20, 30 April 2019 (UTC)
  • @RockMagnetist: Thank you. In that case, need I fix the notes along these lines, or would citations in the notes be redundant to citations already in the table? ComplexRational (talk) 18:24, 30 April 2019 (UTC)
  • It depends. If all the citations support all of the notes, then it might make sense to bundle all the notes together. If each citation supports a different note, it should be moved there. RockMagnetist(talk) 19:09, 30 April 2019 (UTC)
Done Cited the facts in each note separately. ComplexRational (talk) 23:58, 30 April 2019 (UTC)
  • Well I have no idea how to do any of that, nor why, so I'm bowing out of this. Maury Markowitz (talk) 11:31, 30 April 2019 (UTC)
  • Thanks, ComplexRational, the notes look much better now. Here is a full review: New GA, nominated within 7 days. Long enough, neutrally written, well referenced, no close paraphrasing seen in online sources. ALT1 is hooky, verified, and cited inline. All images in article are freely licensed. QPQ done. ALT1 good to go. Yoninah (talk) 18:26, 2 May 2019 (UTC)
