6523 characters, created and expanded 20-22 June, article is well cited with inline citations, and the first part of the hook checks out. However, I cannot find anything in this source that says Baron Ellenborough himself funded it as an all-girl's school (rather, it only says: "Dating from 1500, it has been the home of the Earl of Ellenborough (in the 1830s), a private girls’ school and a hotel that became progressively more tired until it was bought by the present owners, a group of investors, in 2008."). The source also seems to indicate that it was an Earl, not a Baron, that did the changes. This should be addressed before promotion (please correct me if I'm wrong). Thanks, but that doesn't yet address my other point about the source discrepancy mentioned above (it's not clear whether he funded the school). In short, "Later, it functioned as a private girls' school, funded by Ellenborough himself" is not supported by the source (at least that I can see). Thanks, Ruby 2010/2013 04:12, 2 July 2013 (UTC)

Other sources suggest that this hook is incorrect. C.f. "Following Edward Law’s death, Southam House and the landed estates at Southam, Oxenton and Prescott were rented out ... In 1947 a Miss Bellamy opened The Oriel Private School for Girls on the site, which was in existence for just twenty five years." Mary Mark Ockerbloom (talk) 12:41, 3 July 2013 (UTC)
