Dania Beach Hurricane

  • ... that a Playboy photo shoot once took place during a hurricane? Source: Kent, Cindy (April 16, 2013). "State's tallest wooden coaster is set to come down". The Orlando Sentinel. pp. A8. This one is a bit strange, as people usually say "on the Hurricane" when referring to the coaster, but this hook is meant to be a bit quirky.

  • Non-reviewer note: the lower-case "hurricane" formatting would only be acceptable for April Fools' Day.  MANdARAXXAЯAbИAM  17:30, 30 August 2022 (UTC)
    • @Mandarax: That would be fine with me. If it turns out that this can't be used as an April Fools' DYK, I'm OK with changing "hurricane" to uppercase as well, e.g. "that someone once paid $750 to enjoy the Hurricane". Epicgenius (talk) 18:15, 30 August 2022 (UTC)
General: Article is new enough and long enough

Policy compliance:

Hook eligibility:

  • Cited: No - The Orlando Sentinel explicitly attributed the Playboy tidbit to Goodwin, a lawyer for the park. I'm not sure that's good enough to use unattributed in this article. The Sun-Sentinel source for ALTs 2–4 on the weddings/television episodes keeps redirecting me to their main page, so i'll accept it in good faith.
  • Interesting: No - dinging ALT6, the rest are good. My favourite is suggested below, but barring that, I like ALTs 3 and 5, especially for April Fools' :)
QPQ: Done.

Overall: Nice job, Epicgenius! just a couple of things to clear up :) as far as Mandarax's point about capitalization goes, "hurricane" should be left lowercase if used for DYK AFD, and capitalized otherwise. Also suggesting this ALT: theleekycauldron (talkcontribs) (she/they) 23:23, 30 August 2022 (UTC)

  • ALT7: ... that the hurricane was damaged by a hurricane?
    • Did you mean to say "if used for AFD"? Because the only time we allow miscapitalizations is April Fools' Day.  MANdARAXXAЯAbИAM  23:48, 30 August 2022 (UTC)
      • @Mandarax: Yep, that's my bad, thanks! theleekycauldron (talkcontribs) (she/they) 23:57, 30 August 2022 (UTC)
        • @Theleekycauldron: Thanks for the review. ALT7 sounds fine to me. I've removed the RCDB ref, even though it was only being used to cite basic statistics. Unfortunately, since the ride has been demolished, the YouTube ref (which is a front-row POV of the ride) is probably the only source that can be used to describe the ride experience. Ride POVs have been used as sources in multiple roller coaster GAs (e.g. Iron Gwazi, Tigris) and FAs (e.g. Millennium Force), so I thought a ride POV would also be acceptable as a source here. • ah, then I shall defer – ALTs 3, 4, and 5 are approved (in both April Fools' capacity and for regular use), and a review for ALT7 would be much appreciated :) theleekycauldron (talkcontribs) (she/they) 02:55, 31 August 2022 (UTC)
