This template is used on approximately 2,700 pages and changes may be widely noticed. Test changes in the template's /sandbox or /testcases subpages, or in your own user subpage. Consider discussing changes on the talk page before implementing them.

This template uses Lua:

This template is designed for use in navigating between the years a country has participated in a sport.

Usage

This template requires two unnamed parameters, with other optional parameters:

1: The full name of the country (e.g. Canada)
2: The name of the games (e.g. Summer Olympics)
3: The first year the country participated in the games (e.g. 1934). If the games are the Commonwealth Games, this parameter is required.
4: (optional) The last year the country participated in the games (e.g. 2002 was the final year Zimbabwe participated)
state: (optional) Set this to collapsed or uncollapsed to set the visibility. Default is collapsed.
below: (optional) Use this parameter to put a message at the bottom of the navbox (see Malaya example below). Note that some entries (see Canada below) contain default messages, but can be overwritten if something is passed to below.

Note that if the generic "Olympics" is used, both Summer and Winter games will be displayed.

Canada hosted the 1976 Summer Olympics, as well as the 1988 and 2010 Winter Olympics. Canada did not participate in 1980 due to a boycott.
