Template:Özgön places

Template:Özgön places is a navigation template for populated places in Kyrgyzstan by district. It is based on the populated places listed in classification system of territorial units of the Kyrgyz Republic, last updated in May 2021 ("Classification system of territorial units of the Kyrgyz Republic" (in Kyrgyz). National Statistics Committee of the Kyrgyz Republic. May 2021.).

Notes:

• There are three types of populated places: city (Russian: город - gorod, abbreviated г.), town (Russian: посёлок городского типа - posyolok gorodskogo tipa, abbreviated пгт) and village (Russian: село - selo, abbreviated с.). In 2012 6 towns were officially recategorized as cities, and 13 towns as villages, see Law 27 September 2012 No. 168 on the transformation of individual urban settlements of the Kyrgyz Republic and relating them to the category of village or city
• The Kyrgyz language place names are used, in the BGN/PCGN romanization, except when there is a different, commonly used name in English (e.g. Issyk-Kul)
