Construction History

Is all of the construction history really necessary? 76.214.192.235 (talk) 05:28, 13 July 2012 (UTC)[reply]

I think it definitely could be compacted a bit. In a lot of articles I've worked with, I've generally just stuck with a paragraph or two detailing it. Themeparkgc  Talk  07:22, 13 July 2012 (UTC)[reply]

Pictures

There are some really good pictures of X-flight on these pages: http://sfgamworld.com/gallery/imagegallery.php?pageNum_Recordset1=4&totalRows_Recordset1=48&ride=X-Flight%20Media%20Day http://www.multivu.com/mnr/55453-six-flags-great-america-x-flight-cutting-edge-wing-coaster-takes-flight Maybe someone could get permission to use a few here.

And there's already another picture on wikipedia. Why is it not being used here? http://commons.wikimedia.org/wiki/File:X-Flight_train_exiting_keyhole_element.jpg --Jbw9999 (talk) 14:51, 13 August 2012 (UTC)[reply]

Too many pictures make the article look cluttered. There are a heap of images that have been uploaded at Commons:Category:X-Flight (Six Flags Great America). Feel free to swap some out if you wish. Themeparkgc  Talk  22:05, 15 August 2012 (UTC)[reply]

Comments

  • Optional, but maybe there could be another picture of the ride outside of the infobox?--Dom497 (talk) 23:19, 28 February 2013 (UTC)[reply]
  • "Following the roll, the train makes a left turn before going through an Inline twist. During this element, when the train is on a 90-degree angle, riders go through a fake control tower, giving the illusion the train will hit the tower." - Work in something that mention's the word "keyhole".--Dom497 (talk) 00:00, 1 March 2013 (UTC)[reply]
  • Surley there's got to be some reviews of the ride. Also, did the coaster win any GTA awards?--Dom497 (talk) 00:00, 1 March 2013 (UTC)[reply]
    • I just did a Google News Search of past and present and couldn't find any reviews of the ride. Also, it did not win any GTA awards.-- Astros4477 (Talk) 19:43, 1 March 2013 (UTC)[reply]
      • Found some reviews here, here, here (somewhat of a review), and here.--Dom497 (talk) 19:53, 1 March 2013 (UTC)[reply]
        • Where'd you find the news article reviews? Those didn't show up in a search anywhere.-- Astros4477 (Talk) 00:32, 2 March 2013 (UTC)[reply]
        •  Done.-- Astros4477 (Talk) 00:58, 2 March 2013 (UTC)[reply]
          • All I did was a google search of "x-flight six flags great america reviews".--Dom497 (talk) 03:32, 2 March 2013 (UTC)[reply]
            • I'll try that next time. Anyway I responded to all your comments.-- Astros4477 (Talk) 04:44, 2 March 2013 (UTC)[reply]
  • You can include more info in the lead such as the soft opening and opening of the coaster and what rides it replaced.--Dom497 (talk) 00:01, 1 March 2013 (UTC)[reply]
  • Another thing would to check if there are any other reliable sources that talk about the construction timeline. Just having facebook as a reference in the entire section isn't quite what I would like.--Dom497 (talk) 00:04, 1 March 2013 (UTC)[reply]
    • I haven't been able to find anything else. I think it's ok because it's just offering facts on construction.-- Astros4477 (Talk) 00:58, 2 March 2013 (UTC)[reply]
      • I agreed from the beginning, I just wanted you to see if there were any other refs then just facebook.--Dom497 (talk) 13:28, 2 March 2013 (UTC)[reply]

Name Change

It should be noted that SFGAm does not use a hyphen in the name of this coaster, it is simply X Flight. Does this page need to have its name changed?JlACEer (talk) 14:02, 14 March 2013 (UTC)[reply]

  • See name change suggestion below.JlACEer (talk) 20:44, 14 March 2013 (UTC)[reply]
  • I don't think it is necessary to double or even triple references at the end of each statement. Some of the references don't belong — for instance you reference the Chicago Sun Times newspaper article after the statement that a ride cycle lasts 1 minute and 15 second yet that article makes no mention of the length of the ride cycle.JlACEer (talk) 20:44, 14 March 2013 (UTC)[reply]
It looks like it's about 50/50 for the article name. We'll see what other people say. As for the refs, I have fixed that.-- Astros4477 (Talk) 21:01, 14 March 2013 (UTC)[reply]
