Talk:Wulfings

Wolf clans

Yo; just serving notice that I'm going to start (soon, not right now) a disambig or list page on Wolf clans, since there's so many variations/cultures (and other "animal clans"); see Laxgibuu - the wolf clan of the Tsimshian and which has cognates/cousins among neighbouring peoples of the Pacific Northwest Coast; the Oneida, Lenape (see List of Chiefs of the Wolf Clan and its talkpage), Cherokee and others also had wolf clans. A bit of a non sequitur but just to note its forthcoming existence....Skookum1 (talk) 20:28, 26 October 2008 (UTC)[reply]

WulfingWulfings – all related articles (Wuffingas, Hundings, Geats, Lombards, Vikings) use the plural with the "s". Kintetsubuffalo (talk) 06:22, 6 February 2018 (UTC) --Relisting. Dekimasuよ! 07:01, 13 February 2018 (UTC)[reply]

  • Oppose "Edgetho had started a feud by killing a Wulfing warrior, Hathlaf" In ictu oculi (talk) 09:38, 6 February 2018 (UTC)[reply]
  • @In ictu oculi: Perhaps revisit? It looks like you are referring to an adjectival use here. Dekimasuよ! 21:45, 13 February 2018 (UTC)[reply]
It was an off the cuff response to a nom with no guideline cited, I was just wondering why we should make any exceptions to WP:PLURAL. But until now I for one didn't realise it specifically makes an exception for national groups, example Belgians. so Support per exception listed. • Support. Of course. You could also write: "Edgetho had started a feud by killing a Viking warrior..."! Or a Geat warrior. Or a Lombard warrior. Why is this article different? They're peoples. They're pluralised if the article is about the people as a whole. Of course you can also write any of them in the singular; that's blatantly obvious. And also completely irrelevant. -- Necrothesp (talk) 14:10, 7 February 2018 (UTC)[reply]
  • Support per standard. :bloodofox: (talk) 23:26, 13 February 2018 (UTC)[reply]
