Kanji

The use of kanji seems a little excessive, to the point of making the article hard to read; and the train lines should be linked.--Jpatokal Nov 13 2003

Unlinked to any private railways?

"Unusually for a major Japanese station it is not linked to any private (i.e. non-JR) railway lines"

I have removed that statement because Tokyo Metro (a non-JR) railway company has been serving Tokyo Station with subway service since 1956 - Limitedexpresstrain 19:54, 13 June 2006 (UTC).

The result of the move request was: Move. Jafeluv (talk) 11:44, 25 October 2012 (UTC)

Tōkyō StationTokyo Station – Per WP:COMMONNAME, most English source use "Tokyo" instead of "Tōkyō", for example this, this, and this. Hvn0413 (talk) 12:44, 18 October 2012 (UTC)

Same situation exists for Osaka and Ōsaka Station

I've taken the liberty of closing this discussion. I responded below, but the post to which I was responding was a blatant TBAN-violation. It's kind of off-topic to use an already-closed RM discussion as an opportunity to attack the titles of completely separate pages, and LBW has been warned numerous times not to discuss this particular topic. Therefore, since he will be unable to respond to me or to anyone else, the discussion section seems kind of pointless. elvenscout742 (talk) 02:06, 25 February 2013 (UTC)

The same silly inconsistency that was corrected by the above RfM also exists for Osaka and Ōsaka Station, Kyoto and Kyōto Station, Kobe and Kōbe Station... and so on...

  • It's trivial to research COMMONNAME in reliable sources:
  • Google reliable sources for "Ōsaka Station"
  • Google reliable sources for "Osaka Station"
  • Google reliable sources for "Kyōto Station"
  • Google reliable sources for "Kyoto Station"
  • Google reliable sources for "Kōbe Station"
  • Google reliable sources for "Kobe Station"

I don't know. I agree with IIO and BDD above, but DAJF was also right.[1] This article is very important, as are the ones you mention above. But I can see you moving from there to move Shiwachūō Station. Especially given that you cared so much about this issue to violate your topic ban countless times in the space of a week. elvenscout742 (talk) 05:13, 24 February 2013 (UTC)
