Article title

I propose removing the article "the" from the article title, per WP:THE, and also our precedent from a similar change I made at Talk:Four Seasons Restaurant#Article title. Edge3 (talk) 03:02, 5 July 2023 (UTC)[reply]

@Epicgenius: Just pinging you re: the above message, since I'm not sure that you saw it. Edge3 (talk) 03:21, 8 July 2023 (UTC)[reply]
Thanks for the ping @Edge3 - I didn't see this earlier. I think the page could be moved without any problem. The current title came about because the hotel was officially branded as "The Roosevelt Hotel" prior to 2020, with the definite article. However, the hotel was closed for three years and isn't being marketed with the definite article anymore. More recent sources are just referring to it as the "Roosevelt Hotel" (without including the definite article as part of the name), anyway. Epicgenius (talk) 04:17, 8 July 2023 (UTC)[reply]
I don't think it really matters whether the hotel brands itself with the article "The". WP:THE tends to disfavor its use in most cases.
Anyway, I can't move it right now because there's a technical move restriction, and I'm on my phone. I can get to it on my laptop later, unless you'd like to submit the move request yourself. Edge3 (talk) 16:29, 8 July 2023 (UTC)[reply]
No problem. Since I have page mover rights, I can actually move it shortly. – Epicgenius (talk) 17:29, 8 July 2023 (UTC)[reply]
Although, with respect to WP:THE, we do have pages such as The New York Times (and derivatives of such titles like The New York Times Company and The New York Times Best Seller list), where the page is named as such because "The" is part of the subject's actual name. – Epicgenius (talk) 17:34, 8 July 2023 (UTC)[reply]
Thanks! And I appreciate that WP:THE isn't always that clear. The guideline mainly covers works and publications, groups, and companies, but the guidance doesn't directly address naming of buildings. Edge3 (talk) 17:42, 8 July 2023 (UTC)[reply]
