The result of the move request was: no consensus. It should be noted that according to WP:NCPLACE#Region-specific guidance, listing below that section should be considered previous consensus. San Luis Potosí City → San Luis Potosí (city) – Both the city and the eponymous state are very prominent, but current consensus indicates the states having the status of WP:PRIMARYTOPICs. Result of the latest page move for Puebla resulted in the article neing moved to Puebla (city) (see Talk:Puebla (city)/Archive 1#Requested move 16 November 2018). As such it is fair to have all other eponymous Mexican cities be titled as "CITYNAME (city)". But since this may attract controversy to some, a page move request for one major Mexican city will be initiated for now (not a single request for all eponymous Mexican cities).   • Oppose WP:PLACE explicitly contradicts this: The cities that share names with states have been placed at [[Placename City]]], with the state taking the [[Placename]] location: for example, Oaxaca City, (city) and Oaxaca (state).
