"leaving a stark effect that registers as both subtle and raw, and one that can only be found in the cinema"

Definite articles don't work that way. 24.224.195.28

This is a nice quote by Robert Bresson: "What is for the eye must not duplicate what is for the ear." Perhaps it could be included somewhere... Unknown 17:30 9 April 2014 (UTC)

Christian atheist

I doubt if Bresson ever considered himself a "Christian atheist." There isn't a single reliable source asserting that—on the contrary, we have Bresson himself claiming to be a believer, as in his interview with Ronald Hayman, Transatlantic Review 46–47 (Summer 1973). — Preceding unsigned comment added by Victorfbruno (talkcontribs) 05:56, 22 March 2016 (UTC)[reply]

It's apocryphal. Neither of the secondary sources cited in the article provide a primary source for the quote. It should be deleted from the article if there is no primary source. — Preceding unsigned comment added by 2602:306:C41D:6AE0:4C89:67EC:EB18:E76D (talk) 05:06, 5 August 2016 (UTC)[reply]
