Trivia

In the protest song Fast Cars from 1977 the english punk band Buzzcocks sings „Sooner or later you're gonna listen to Ralph Nader". Copyflow (talk) 05:41, 7 May 2023 (UTC)[reply]

Also, Nader is mentioned in Greg Bear's science fiction books, Eon and Eternity, as having inspired the "Naderites" who oppose much of the technology in their high-technology society. Whether Bear intends this to honor Nader or as some form of irony is not at all clear. Wastrel Way (talk) 13:44, 29 January 2024 (UTC) Eric Wastrel Way (talk) 20:19, 3 March 2024 (UTC)[reply]

Hi there @Thriley: I am willing to review this article, however I am not going to do a full review until the multiple uncited paragraphs are properly cited. I think there's enough meat here that I am not quickfailing, but if these missing citations are not addressed in 7 days' time, I will be failing unless the nominator commits to working on them but asks for a bit more time (1996, 2000, 2004 campaigns, periodicals, and television all have uncited paragraphs or parts of paragraphs, and two citation needed tags remain present in the article). Trainsandotherthings (talk) 03:09, 5 July 2023 (UTC)[reply]

Thank you very much. I’ll be working on the article over the coming week. Best, Thriley (talk) 04:50, 5 July 2023 (UTC)[reply]
It has been nine days without improvement. I'm willing to give you until the end of the weekend, and at that point I will have to fail if the missing citations have not been resolved. Trainsandotherthings (talk) 22:04, 14 July 2023 (UTC)[reply]
Working on it right now. Sorry for the delay! Thriley (talk) 21:34, 17 July 2023 (UTC)[reply]
It has been close to a month and I still count 7 citation needed templates. Regretfully it is time to fail this nomination. It can be re-nominated once the missing citations have been fully addressed. Trainsandotherthings (talk) 19:59, 29 July 2023 (UTC)[reply]

Professional designation

Is it fair to describe him first and foremost as a “perennial presidential candidate,” as opposed to political activist or author? It’s not a meaningful professional designation, and his presidential campaigns were clearly an offshoot of his political activism. I suggest changing the opening sentence to “Ralph Nader (/ˈneɪdər/; born February 27, 1934) is an American political activist, author, lecturer, attorney, and perennial presidential candidate noted for his involvement in consumer protection, environmentalism, and government reform causes.” The designations may also be ordered alphabetically, it that’s more neutral. 103.211.18.21 (talk) 09:46, 2 January 2024 (UTC)[reply]
