I very much doubt that Mrs Shinawatra is Chinese in anyway herself; while her husband is indeed Sino-Thai, I cannot locate any source that she has any Chinese blood whatsoever. If anyone thinks so otherwise, please provide a source to verify her heritage, furthermore her physical features suggests that she is of solely indigenious Thai/Lao ancestry. Thank you. According to this article in Bangkok Post the land was actually purchased above the market value. It was the book value that was much higher. This indicates that the land was not bought at a knocked-down price as claimed by the Supreme Court.

Neither Section 4 nor Section 100 of the National Counter Corruption Act^[1] mentions "direct supervision", as stated in this part of the Wikipedia entry:

"The charge was based on alleged violation of Section 100 of the National Counter Corruption Act, which specifies that government officials and their spouses are prohibited from entering into or having interests in contracts made with state agencies under their authorisation. However, Section 4 of the Act indicates that persons committing malfeasance must be direct supervisors of the damaged party - in this case, the FIDF."
