Width of corridor

How wide is it? — Preceding unsigned comment added by 81.101.0.145 (talk) 11:41, 26 December 2023 (UTC)[reply]

Old talk

Since this article presents only the offical explanation-for-idiots as to why hundreds of houses have been demolished, it is factually incorrect and propagandistic. Therefore the notice stays. Zero

It looks like the edits from 66.30.24.91 are from a Human Rights Watch web page, I'm reverting them because it is a copyright violation. Edward 11:22, 14 Nov 2004 (UTC)

Every rational thinking, intelligent human recognizes that HRW is a blatantly anti-Israel, extreme leftist biased organization. This page is garbage. spnst3

HRW wouldn't be "anti-Israel" if Israel didn't constantly commit human rights violations. HRW used to be "anti-South Africa", too. And since when does opposing apartheid, ethnic cleansing, and military violence targeting civilians make one an extreme leftist? 108.199.241.18 (talk) —Preceding undated comment added 15:59, 10 October 2012 (UTC)[reply]

Map request

Lacking a map, an expanded identification of the location would be helpful. Is the strip on the Gaza or the Egyptian side, or both? How wide is the strip? ...Rolin —Preceding unsigned comment added by 67.163.182.214 (talk) 14:05, 23 January 2009 (UTC)[reply]

Why the name?

Thanks. Imagine Reason (talk) 04:10, 9 January 2009 (UTC)[reply]

No special reason. It's a military code name for a route used by military vehicles. These code names are usually randomly picked by a computer software. --Omrim (talk) 19:11, 14 February 2009 (UTC)[reply]
That reply explains the name has nothing to do with Philadelphia. Note the final letter "a" here.--Dthomsen8 (talk) 17:27, 8 July 2019 (UTC)[reply]

Lead

The lead currently states "Under the Oslo Accords, the portion in the Gaza Strip remained under direct Israeli military control". Why is this relevent for the lead? It creates the impression that Israel still controls the corridor. Or, if it is relevant, we should also note IN THE LEAD that control was handed over to Egypt in 2005. --Omrim (talk) 19:31, 13 February 2009 (UTC)[reply]

Mistaken history of the corridor

This article has provided an incorrect description of the establishment of the corridor since this edit in 2010 by User:Chesdovi. The corridor, and the name Philadelphi Route, did not exist until 2004. The source Treaty-Making Power: Approval the Israel-Egypt Philadelphia Accord by the Knesset was being cited incorrectly.

I will fix this now. Onceinawhile (talk) 10:33, 14 January 2024 (UTC)[reply]

Philadelphi RoutePhiladelphi Corridor – Although Philadelphi Route is the official codename from the original 2004 document; Corridor seems to be the most COMMONNAME name today. Onceinawhile (talk) 15:45, 14 January 2024 (UTC)[reply]

source for the AMA part?

There is no source to say that "none of the promises were kept", just a link to the accord itself, so either remove or give source (and maybe reason that may explain the "promise not kept"? I'm sure there's one)

From doc ref 10: "The target date for opening, 25 November 2005, was met and the crossing opened on all but one day until the 25 June 2006. During the first six months of 2006 the crossing was opening nine and a half hours a day with an average of 650 people crossing daily each way; almost double the average during the six months prior to the AMA (360 people a day)"

Looks like promise (partially?) kept to me....

Length of Corridor

Numerous sources state that the Philadelphia Corridor is 14km long, this isn't true, measuring on google maps it's 12.7km. Some sources state 13 km such as here: https://m.jpost.com/israel-news/article-782315 https://english.almayadeen.net/news/politics/egypt-rejects-israeli-proposal-for-increased-oversight-on-bo Gaza War Unit Tracking (talk) 08:07, 21 April 2024 (UTC)[reply]

This is not an edit request but treating it as a request to change the distance from 14, not done, because Numerous sources state that the Philadelphia Corridor is 14km long. Selfstudier (talk) 11:06, 21 April 2024 (UTC)[reply]
