Map

Leonakselrad, can you provide a better map? This map looks like a scribble, there's no explanation or reference to any specific proposed project. I don't think it's appropriate.--Doron 19:39, 18 September 2005 (UTC)[reply]

This map File:DSC2.gif is a the standard map on many wikipedia sites.

Explanation

It is self explanatory. There are two inputs to the canal from the Med and one output flowing to the Dead Sea.

One input from Gaza second input from Ashkelon area.

It is designed as a cooperative peace project between warring parties to serve their common interests.

Hopefuly it will lead to peace. If not the canal will still serve a useful function supplying water and energy etc. This configuration of the project is my idea and my design.

I will emphasize that fact if it facilitates the issue.

I've reverted your edit once again. Please explain here in this talk page where does this so-called "peace plan" come from. Unless you can show otherwise, your edit appears to be original research, which is not allowed in Wikipedia. Peace Plan

The Peace Plan is not unlike a Wiki of concerned individuals who have contemplated and came to the conclusion that it has potential. Doron,did you know that had the Chinese bothered to educate and cultivate their enemies the Chinese Wall would not have been necessary. It is a parallel situation in the Middle East if we invest in an economic project that will advance the economic wellbeing of all concerned we shall all be better off.

We need to grow the Peace like we grow our harvests in the fields. It is a tree that needs to be planted. The roots will grow it will become sturdy and one day we shall reap it's fruits of peace. Shall we forever invest in war and weaponry. The symbol of this nation is a Menorah which suggests patience wisdom and internal introspection. The symbol of the IDF is a sword entwined by an olive branch of peace.

Hi Doron I am a bit concerned about a quote you have about Theodor Herzl in his 1902 novel Altneuland.I have glimpsed at the book and did not find any references to the Dead Sea Canal. I added a reference to an e-text of the Hebrew translation by Sokolow. If you can find the quote in your book, you could add a page number. Hi Doron I went to the University of Haifa library today and looked up references to the dead sea canal in Alteneuland book in German,English and Hebrew. The references are there. Here is a sample from the source you provided:

Merge

I think this should be merged with Two Seas Canal, which apparently describes the exact same project. At least add something to this article to explain the difference.

Project Study of Wendt/Kelm

Hello everybody, in the German Wikipedia, there's a part of the article about a 1975 detailed project study of two German engineers who made an alternative plan for the Dead Sea Canal. if there is any interest, I could translate that part into English and put it into the English WP. Merger proposal
