I'm proposing merging USS Tempest (1862) into this list. Coverage in non-primary sources is fairly minimal (mainly very small touches in Myron J. Smith's recent work on tinclads, and the rather bare DANFS entry, as well as brief passing mentions). This is not surprising, as the ship was intended for use in a war that was basically over by the time it was commissioned. A brief service summary could be move over to the list article, which would allow for greater context of the type of vessel and its nature to be presented. There just isn't much to say on this vessel at all, beyond its dimensions. Hog FarmTalk 20:12, 10 January 2023 (UTC)[reply]
