Talk:List of cities and towns in Denmark

Untitled

I propose excluding Greenland and Faroese towns from this list (they have their own, or should have) Jens Nielsen 11:52, 29 January 2006 (UTC)[reply]

Aastrup

Shouldn't Aastrup be listed at the bottom of the list, since Å(Aa) is the final letter of the Danish alphabet, and also the other cities that begin in Å/Aa- are listed there.

Iceland or Greenland

The article mentions Iceland and Greenland as being associated with Denmark. —Preceding unsigned comment added by 195.14.76.50 (talk) 09:53, 30 October 2007 (UTC)[reply]

Municipalities or cities

This list should really be based on the population of urban areas – as is the case with the corresponding article in Danish which it links to. Alternatively it should be moved to "List of municipalities in Denmark by population". Any objections?Ramblersen (talk) 07:10, 23 September 2010 (UTC)[reply]

I very much agree Gardar Rurak (talk) 00:07, 15 April 2017 (UTC)[reply]

Referencing, consistency, and usability

A few months ago, Infestor made this edit without any summary. It introduced about eight undefined footnotes, removed several existing footnotes, and deleted almost all of 15 references that this article had. It also updated the table with new numbers. I can't find a way to use the reference given for the new data to verify any of it. I think that's because I'm not so good at reading Danish, but also because the website linked uses postal codes (or government area codes?) which are far more granular than the metropolitan totals this table intends to show.

As it sits, the artilce is not verifiable because the sources given don't result in the statistics the article shows. While the article before Infestor's changes had similar problems and was also in need of update, I think it was actually in better shape than it is now.

The article doesn't match Wikipedia itself; the Copenhagen metro area here is given a population of about 1.36 million, but the Copenhagen metro area article linked from this table gives a population of 2.4 million -- a very significant difference. Others are closer or further, but there seems to be a mix of metro-sprawl and city-boundary populations in this table ... but no explanation of which are used when. Looks like Ramblersen voiced that same concern more than a decade ago.

Further, are yearly updates really useful?

How can this article be cleaned up so that it is verifiable and usable? -- Mikeblas (talk) 15:27, 16 March 2024 (UTC)[reply]
