Readers of this page should note that similar anonymous allegations of unfair practices in the award of construction contracts by KIMEP were reviewed by the Ministry of Justice in Kazakhstan in Spring 2007 and found to be completely without merit.Prodigal55 13:16, 28 August 2007 (UTC)[reply]

The "Controversies" section of this page serves no useful purpose other than creating a platform for a minuscule group of "trash-KIMEP" activists (including most recently anonymous user 195.229.235.41 whose IP address resolves to the United Arab Emirates -- how knowledgeable can this person be?) to air their unsupported allegations. Wikipedia is not the place for this! I have deleted the entire section and I hope that any moderators watching agree.

I am/was that so-called 'activist' (nice attempt to corrupt meaning through emotive language, there!). As for me being in the UAE - yes, that is correct, but I spent SIX YEARS working at KIMEP, and keep in close contact with many of my former colleagues there. I do, therefore know exactly what I am talking about, and have accordingly restored the "Controversies" section, which unfortunately keeps getting vandalised by some deranged apologist for the Dr Bang regime in an effort to give an an untrue picture of life there. By no means are we "trash KIMEP activists" - quite the opposite, in fact. Our intention is merely that set out above - to offer a real insiders' perspective on working at "Gulag KIMEP" (which seems to somehow upset certain others). The statement by Michael C. McHugh above that "USKO does all the major construction work on campus" is not correct. For example, USKO was not the general contractor for the extensive Language Center renovations of 2007.Prodigal55 (talk) 09:31, 4 December 2008 (UTC)[reply]
