Juventus F.C. Under-23Juventus Next Gen Juventus F.C. Next Gen – New name per the official website. Many other reliable news sites, such as Goal.com, Gazzetta dello Sport and Tuttosport have also reported the name change. The official Serie C website changed the club's name accordingly. • Comment: Why not doing what's being done on it.wiki? Dr Salvus 19:54, 26 August 2022 (UTC)[reply]
As an user says on it.wiki: Juventus can 'rebrand' itself as it likes, but the name 'Under 23' is FIGC-issued and that 'officially' remains in the championships, until proven otherwise. Dr Salvus 19:59, 26 August 2022 (UTC)[reply]
officially remains in the championships: Lega Pro are using "Next Gen" (official website). Nehme1499 20:02, 26 August 2022 (UTC)[reply]
Quick note: it.wiki just moved the page to it:Juventus Next Gen. Nehme1499 19:45, 31 August 2022 (UTC)[reply]
  • Support per nom and sources; stupid name but who am I to judge. GiantSnowman 20:05, 26 August 2022 (UTC)[reply]
Ok... The reason I think it is stupid is because the name does not sound well to me and because "Next Gen" players won't probably be part of the 1st team with Allegri. A day, I may get used with and then like/adore it. Dr Salvus 20:12, 26 August 2022 (UTC)[reply]
"Stupid name" for what? "Under 23" teams not exist da many years in Europe and this is a reserve team without connection with the club's Youth Sector and its squads like U-19 or "Primavera"... 2800:200:E840:1F3:2DEA:258:86F5:A97D (talk) 22:27, 26 August 2022 (UTC)[reply]
@2800:200:E840:1F3:2DEA:258:86F5:A97D: "Next Gen" is horrendous and ridiculous imo and I am not the sole to not like it. However, we have gone too much off topic, tell us if you want to rename it or not. Dr Salvus 00:14, 27 August 2022 (UTC)[reply]
  • Support per above. Mine was an infantile behaviour just because I didn't like it. Dr Salvus 20:25, 26 August 2022 (UTC)[reply]
  • Support per nom, although I also agree it's a terrible name.--Ortizesp (talk) 22:45, 26 August 2022 (UTC)[reply]
  • Support per the sources, as we rely on the sources and not on what sounds good or not for us. Personally btw I feel it's a better name than "Under-23" --SuperJew (talk) 20:17, 27 August 2022 (UTC)[reply]
  • Comment: the page should be moved to Juventus Next Gen, without "F.C.". Per the Lega Pro (Serie C) profile, the "business name" (ragione sociale) of the club is "Juventus Next Gen". In comparison see other clubs, such as Albinoleffe or Mantova, for example, which display the full names. Another example of a reserve team's name not having the "FC" or "CF" of the parent club is Real Madrid Castilla.
Pinging @Dr Salvus, GiantSnowman, Ortizesp, and SuperJew. Nehme1499 09:36, 30 August 2022 (UTC)[reply]

Fine by me too. Dr Salvus 10:39, 30 August 2022 (UTC)[reply]
Support this as well.--Ortizesp (talk) 15:16, 30 August 2022 (UTC)[reply]

Juventus U23's logo on their Twitter profile has an orange background. Should that be inserted on this page? Dr Salvus 05:10, 5 October 2022 (UTC)[reply]

No, they use Juventus' normal logo on their kits. Nehme1499 07:59, 5 October 2022 (UTC)[reply]

"History" section could be improved furhter

I believe this section is Achilles' heel of this page. I think it could have a further expansion but remember what you said in May 2021 here. Someone has told me it'd be a good idea nominating this for GA. Dr Salvus 22:54, 21 November 2022 (UTC)[reply]

It seems Juventus even had a third team, competing in the Terza Categoria in the early 20th century. Dr Salvus 13:16, 23 November 2022 (UTC)[reply]
I've found evidence of the Juventus III's existence:1, 2, 3, 4. I don't know whether talking on Juventus III would be appropriate in an article talking of Juventus' second team, nor do I know if writing this would be "ugly" to see. We only know that they played some friendlies and played in Terza Categoria (maybe?). Dr Salvus 22:42, 24 November 2022 (UTC)[reply]
I guess you can add a sentence summarizing what you found. Nehme1499 22:55, 24 November 2022 (UTC)[reply]
I've read that Juventus III participated to the 1906 Terza Categoria (it.wiki), but the article does not provide a source.
There isn't info on Juventus III matches which would help me even if unsourced (I could've searched on La Stampa archives). Dr Salvus 07:24, 25 November 2022 (UTC)[reply]
I've found evidence on Juventus III's participation to the Terza Categoria (not the league in which I play). La Stampa archives have CC license. I'm thinking of adding a Commons Category where I can put newspaper clippins talking on Juventus II and Juventus III. Would it be appropriate? Dr Salvus 22:53, 25 November 2022 (UTC)[reply]
Sure, if they are free to use. Nehme1499 12:04, 26 November 2022 (UTC)[reply]
This monring, Agnelli talked and said lots of hypocrisies. Do I write them somewhere in this article or is it more appropriate for wikiquote? Dr Salvus 14:22, 27 November 2022 (UTC)[reply]
What did he say? Nehme1499 14:47, 27 November 2022 (UTC)[reply]
He wasn't the only to talk but a five/six people took part to an event called "Next Gen Day". You can see the declarations here.
I think Agnelli's words are hypocrite beacuse he still keeps a coach who doesn't play youngsters if the other players are out. Dr Salvus 14:57, 27 November 2022 (UTC)[reply]
I eat what I said. Dr Salvus 21:21, 28 November 2022 (UTC)[reply]
What name do I use for that category? Dr Salvus 17:41, 13 December 2022 (UTC)[reply]

Assessment

@Wikipediæ philosophia @Nehme1499

The whole article seems very good and solid to me. I have no complaints except a few minor issues (reference for the stadium's capacity and staff members who were not cited) that I've just corrected myself but I can now promote this article to GA class. Congratulations and thank you both for your all your work. AideDésintéressée talk 19:30, 15 July 2023 (UTC)[reply]

Thanks a lot! Wikipediæ philosophia (talk) 19:54, 15 July 2023 (UTC)[reply]

Overall: @Wikipediæ philosophia: Good article. though i do have to ask, what does it mean by "first historic trophy" Onegreatjoke (talk) 23:25, 16 July 2023 (UTC)[reply]

@Onegreatjoke: Their first-ever trophy in their history as well as the first-ever trophy for a reserve team. Wikipediæ philosophia (talk) 03:39, 17 July 2023 (UTC)[reply]
If we're going to use historic then sure. Onegreatjoke (talk) 16:49, 19 July 2023 (UTC)[reply]
