Talk:Jizan

Shias

It is amazing how quickly any mention of the Shias in this and other parts of Saudi Arabia is removed from here. Not only in Saudi Arabia, but also here in the cyber-space, the truth about the religious identity of the citizens are glossed over. Until 2003, the invasion of Iraq and the liberation of the Shia's there, no mention of the Shias could be made in or outside of the Saudi Arabia without serious ramifications to the person. One can only hope that the motto of "Live and let live" would some day make its debut in Saudi Arabia and the minds of the Wahhabi zealots. Demographics

Jizan is not entirely Arab, there are also a lot of expats living there, like indians. Akmal94 (talk) 17:34, 1 June 2015 (UTC)[reply]

@Akmal94: Do you have a source for that? Would be good to change and properly cite Therealmorris (talk) 12:28, 15 February 2016 (UTC)[reply]

Forward “Jazan” to this page

On my Google maps (US, American English) the name of this city is romanticized as "Jazan". This made finding this page more difficult.

I don't know how it's done, but I've seen pages that redirect from other spelling/acronyms/etc.

I'm curious how that is done and if anyone has any thoughts on making this page the top search result/forward destination when the user enters "Jazan" into Wikipedia.

I think it would be appropriate considering Google Maps spells it that way for presumably more users than just me. Henrywinn (talk) 21:49, 29 July 2023 (UTC)[reply]
