United States

I'm going to clarify this section of the independent city page. It's ambiguous. I'm going to seperate the US section into two sub sections, New York and Virginia. Mike (talk) 21:40, 25 March 2012 (UTC)[reply]

German version

I would like to add link to https://de.wikipedia.org/wiki/Kreisfreie_Stadt (even though it primarily covers German situation, but also refers to US and international indep. cities), but do not know how.Meerwind7 (talk) 10:30, 13 April 2015 (UTC)[reply]

Sorry, I didn't want to open a new section for this. In the part about Germany, there is a mistake: The state of Bremen is not identical with the (independent) city of Bremen, but consists of two independent cities, the other one being Bremerhaven! By the way, I think it should be mentioned, that the literal translation of "Kreis" is "circle". --92.216.147.207 (talk) 03:02, 14 October 2017 (UTC)[reply]

Sebastopol

Including the city of Sebastopol in the section with Moscow and St. Petersburg gives the impression that the author(s) is in agreement with the Russian seizure of Crimea. Sebastopol is the capital of Crimea, which is part of the republic of Ukraine. As an example of an independent city, Sebastopol should have its separate entry. 67.44.208.57 (talk) 00:41, 27 June 2020 (UTC)[reply]
