Talk:George L. Brown (politician)

Untitled

Removed reference to George Brown being the first Black Lieutenant Governor. There were others during the Reconstruction era, most notably P.B.S. Pinchback of Louisiana. Brown and Mervyn Dymally of CA were both elected the first Black Lt Governors in the modern era in 1974. DJ Jones74 (talk) 03:59, 23 December 2007 (UTC)[reply]

Modified change made on 27 December 2007, which included Mervyn Dymally in the text. The change on 27 December 2007 is absolutely correct, in that, Brown and Dymally were both elected in 1974 and the first since Reconstruction, not overall. However, the 27 Dec. changed text read that Brown "joined" Dymally to become the first black lt.-governors. Brown did not "join" Dymally; the elections in Colorado and California were two separate events. And technically, Brown was elected 1 hour before Dymally due to the time zone in Colorado being ahead of California. --Imitchl (talk) 11:30, 3 January 2008 (UTC)[reply]

Tuskegee Airman?

He's not listed as a Tuskegee Airman pilot: [1] and doesn't seem to feature in any books about them. Mztourist (talk) 06:31, 14 November 2021 (UTC)[reply]
