Introduction to article concept

I started this article on March 14th, 2009 to provide a list of US  environmental community organizations, which, I hope, might help to  stimulate interest among various city residents in becoming active in  their local groups. I've started with California cities Mountain View, Palo Alto, Los  Altos, Menlo Park, and Sunnyvale, but I encourage you to add other  city organizations that you are aware of, so the article can increase  in value. If you are concerned that the focus of the article should be adjusted in ways to make it more useful, I will monitor this page as posts are added.
