Fair use rationale for Image:NS logo.jpg

Image:NS logo.jpg is being used on this article. I notice the image page specifies that the image is being used under fair use but there is no explanation or rationale as to why its use in this Wikipedia article constitutes fair use. In addition to the boilerplate fair use template, you must also write out on the image description page a specific explanation or rationale for why using this image in each article is consistent with fair use.

Please go to the image description page and edit it to include a fair use rationale. Using one of the templates at Wikipedia:Fair use rationale guideline is an easy way to insure that your image is in compliance with Wikipedia policy, but remember that you must complete the template. Do not simply insert a blank template on an image page.

If there is other fair use media, consider checking that you have specified the fair use rationale on the other images used on this page. Note that any fair use images lacking such an explanation can be deleted one week after being tagged, as described on criteria for speedy deletion. If you have any questions please ask them at the Media copyright questions page. Thank you.

location

i was under the impression that it would be on marina boulevard, but i walked past heavy construction today on cross street just behind the sail. As the line is going down cross street from chinatown, it would make more sense for that to be its placement. Can anybody confirm this? DaronDierkes (talk) 08:02, 3 April 2008 (UTC)[reply]

Yes, it will be on central boulevard. http://www.lta.gov.sg/images/landmark_station.jpg  - oahiyeel talk 12:17, 6 April 2008 (UTC)[reply]
That's an excellent picture. All is clear. Thank you. DaronDierkes (talk) 05:54, 7 April 2008 (UTC)[reply]

Station layout

Station layout is wrong. B1 is the concourse and the platforms are at B2.Survivorfreak (talk) 14:38, 2 December 2013 (UTC)[reply]

I have changed it accordingly. Sni56996 (talk) 15:32, 2 December 2013 (UTC)[reply]

1. Well-written:
1a. the prose is clear, concise, and understandable to an appropriately broad audience; spelling and grammar are correct.

*When was the station renamed to "Downtown station"?

  • Downtown station commenced operations on 22 December along with the DTL Stage 1 stations; Prime Minister Lee Hsien Loong had held an official inauguration at the station the day before. - I suggest switching the two, the current order is a bit confusing. Perhaps, "Prime Minister Lee Hsien Loong held an official inauguration ceremony on 21 December; the station commenced operations the following day."
  • I'm not entirely sure what "DTL Stage 1" means- then again, I'm not from Singapore, but perhaps some clarification could be added.

Otherwise, prose is clear and free of typos.

1b. it complies with the Manual of Style guidelines for lead sections, layout, words to watch, fiction, and list incorporation. No lists, fiction, or words to watch present. Lead and layout complies with standards.
2. Verifiable with no original research:
2a. it contains a list of all references (sources of information), presented in accordance with the layout style guideline. Citations are placed in a proper "References" section
2b. reliable sources are cited inline. All content that could reasonably be challenged, except for plot summaries and that which summarizes cited content elsewhere in the article, must be cited no later than the end of the paragraph (or line if the content is not in prose). Most citations are to LTA documents or news sites, all reliable. One book is used for the art details; also reliable.
2c. it contains no original research. Article is well-cited to good sources; no OR visible.
2d. it contains no copyright violations or plagiarism. Earwig shows no violations.
3. Broad in its coverage:
3a. it addresses the main aspects of the topic. Addresses station history and details; not much else to cover. Coverage is appropriate.
3b. it stays focused on the topic without going into unnecessary detail (see summary style). Article stays focused throughout.
4. Neutral: it represents viewpoints fairly and without editorial bias, giving due weight to each. No bias visible.
5. Stable: it does not change significantly from day to day because of an ongoing edit war or content dispute. No edit warring.
6. Illustrated, if possible, by media such as images, video, or audio:
6a. media are tagged with their copyright statuses, and valid non-free use rationales are provided for non-free content. Images are properly CC tagged.
6b. media are relevant to the topic, and have suitable captions. Images are relevant and properly captioned. There's an issue with the gallery under "History"; I'm using Vector 2022, and it's forcing the box and all the prose below it under the infobox- see this archived page to see what I mean.
7. Overall assessment.

Ok rectified the above points. Also removed the gallery for now, though I might use float right for one of the images.--ZKang123 (talk) 00:52, 24 July 2023 (UTC)[reply]

@ZKang123, now that the gallery is gone, I see that the infobox is longer than all the prose... makes me question the thoroughness of the article. Is there any info about how the station was constructed? (I'm specifically looking at Telok Ayer MRT station for reference) MyCatIsAChonk (talk) (not me) (also not me) (still no) 00:57, 24 July 2023 (UTC)[reply]
Not really. The LTA tends to be pretty thin on details for certain stations. ZKang123 (talk) 02:10, 24 July 2023 (UTC)[reply]
An image should be inserted under history so that "References" is pushed down and doesn't collide with the infobox. MyCatIsAChonk (talk) (not me) (also not me) (still no) 02:28, 24 July 2023 (UTC)[reply]
Ok added two images ZKang123 (talk) 02:44, 24 July 2023 (UTC)[reply]
