Offically this hotel is a 5 star so I have changed it from a 4 star (Source: Thomas Cook Signature Disneyland Resort Paris Second Edition)

I moved the trivia to the Disneyland Park article, since all items have more to do with the park than the resort and we should strive toward a clearer subdivision of the two. The exception may be this item:

"In the movie Escape From L.A., Snake Plissken and Map-to-the-Stars Eddie are hangliding over what looks like Disneyland in the postapocalyptic Los Angeles. Plissken remarks "Is that what I think it is?" and Eddie replies: "Yeah..Place changed owners so many times then went out of business. That place in Paris killed them!"

Where does the trivia belong? Or should there be two sets of trivia, one for the resort and one for the park?

The fact that this entity is owned by Disney is mentioned in the article and in the categorization, therefore the see also section is not necessary. Gentgeen 05:26, 13 Aug 2004 (UTC)

I removed "it is Europe's number one tourist destination". Statistics from the Paris Île-de-France regional observatory on tourism ([1]) show that Notre Dame de Paris cathedral received more visitors than Dyneyland Resort Paris in 2004. The history section has been fleshed out quite a bit, which I think is relevant for this subject considering that Disneyland Paris has yet to generate half the buzz it did in the early 1990s.

No, not at all. The thing contains two very seperate theme parks. As a whole, it is a holiday destination known as a resort. I agree that we shouldn't use Disney's advertising copy, but the resort business is just common sense. SergioGeorgini 20:47, 31 May 2007 (UTC)

Minor detail really, but the section about transport mentioned Thalys express trains no longer serving Marne la Vallee, but didn't mention Eurostar at all, so I've added that.

The sea life centre isn't actually in Disneyland Paris, its in Val D'Europe shopping centre which is over a few roundabouts and down the road a bit. If we put this in Disneyland then we are going to have to include a hell of a lot of shops as well! Gertie100 (talk) 15:35, 22 April 2008 (UTC)

The merger of the park article into the resort article has been proposed. Just offhand, the typical way of handling the situation with Disney's other parks has been separate articles for each. That makes sense, given that there's quite a bit of content that can be park-specific, and likewise for resort-specific content. I think the Disney Wikipedia articles are all a little "off" in that sense, because their quantity and thoroughness seem to exceed their social relevance. But I would only agree with a merger if this is done with all articles of Disney resorts. SergioGeorgini (talk) 08:27, 26 August 2009 (UTC)

Well, according to sources, the name has officially been changed since April. So, should the article and all references to 'Disneyland Resort Paris' change to the official 'Disneyland Paris' ??

Is it just me, or does anyone else think the financial details - particularly with regard to things like profit history, or how the resolution of debt problems - should be in Euro Disney S.C.A.? Particularly the latter as it has nothing to do with the day-to-day running of the park, only its corporate affairs. Profits sort of do have some pertinence to the park itself but its ownership/debt liabilities don't really. - Estoy Aquí (talk) 18:07, 29 April 2010 (UTC)

The problem, I think, is the complex nature of the resort's corporate structure. We could either have a dozen articles on every branch of the business workings and leave the reader to add up the pieces, or present a coherent and chronological article that touches on the more relevant issues. Although if somebody were to add a lengthy, in-depth economical analysis (which I'm not sure the subject matter demands), then I'd agree we should split things up. The final name Euro for the European currency has been choosen during the European council of Madrid, Spain on 15-16 December 1995 [2]. The Resort lost the word Euro in its name in October 1994. There is no link between those two events. I would guess that many people who visit Disneyland Park also visit Walt Disney Studios Park. Combining these numbers inflates the visitor count unnecessarily. If no one objects I will go ahead and remove this line for the time being. --oKtosiTe ^talk 11:45, 20 October 2011 (UTC)

Dubious. Directors of DisneyLand Paris just announced an enlargement of the park for 2015 (same location). They're currently celebrating their 20th birthday. Considering the horrible economic situation in Spain, it's clear nobody wants to start a business venture in the country (except maybe in the demolition business. Very unlikely that they would move the park. And since Disney is already actively involved in opening another park elsehwere, it makes opening a new park in spain even less likely. Our group is focusing on expanding the areas on the article pertaining to the attractions, the incidents, 2000 onwards, and opening day sections. Each member has agreed to assume responsibility for editing one of the sections. Adam is researching the incidents. Erin is researching 2000 and onwards. Holly is researching the opening day and expanding the information to cover the next few years that the park was in operation. I am going to research the attractions that were offered at the park.

Hi, guys! Looks like you've put a lot of work into researching for this article. Prof. Newbold asked me to look at each group article and provide some feedback. My first recommendation here is that some of the sections are very detailed (which is great in a lot of cases!), but you may want to consider formatting some sections into lists or subsections—something that will be more accessible to the reader. Something I find really useful is looking at another similar article (like Disneyland) to compare sections and formatting. The only other suggestion is more of a reminder: don't forget to log in to Wikipedia when you're making your edits! Our group of four students recently made several contributions to the page. Holly expanded the Opening Day section adding in additional information up until late 1994. Erin re-wrote and added to the 2000 Onward section focusing on the finances of the park. Adam researched and expanded the Incidents and Accidents portion located on the main article. Katie (myself) added in the Attractions portion of the article, which focuses on the top five attractions at the park as given by the Disneyland Paris website.

We noticed that there is one area where the article needs improved. There are two missing citations under Financial, attendance and employment that need to researched and added into the article. Our group is focusing on expanding the areas on the article pertaining to the attractions, the incidents, 2000 onwards, and opening day sections. Each member has agreed to assume responsibility for editing one of the sections. Adam is researching the incidents. Erin is researching 2000 and onwards. Holly is researching the opening day and expanding the information to cover the next few years that the park was in operation. I am going to research the attractions that were offered at the park.

My first recommendation here is that some of the sections are very detailed (which is great in a lot of cases!), but you may want to consider formatting some sections into lists or subsections—something that will be more accessible to the reader. Something I find really useful is looking at another similar article (like Disneyland) to compare sections and formatting. The only other suggestion is more of a reminder: don't forget to log in to Wikipedia when you're making your edits! It's not required to edit, but it will be much easier for Prof. Newbold and your Ambassadors to help give feedback and see all of your hard work if you sign in. Hope that helps! Our group of four students recently made several contributions to the page. Holly expanded the Opening Day section adding in additional information up until late 1994. Erin re-wrote and added to the 2000 Onward section focusing on the finances of the park. Adam researched and expanded the Incidents and Accidents portion located on the main article. Katie (myself) added in the Attractions portion of the article, which focuses on the top five attractions at the park as given by the Disneyland Paris website.

We noticed that there is one area where the article needs improved. There are two missing citations under Financial, attendance and employment that need to researched and added into the article. The misconception mentioned in the Trivia section does not appear to be confined to those in the United States. In the UK, although the evidence for this is only anecdotal, very rarely is the resort referred to by its correct name in everyday conversation; it is usually still called Euro Disney. Only the most hardcore of fans appear to refer to the resort by its correct name. It is commonly affectionately referred to by fans as dlrp. The general perception by those who have not visited the resort is that it is a small, poor imitation of the more popular Disney's US parks. There is also widespread confusion in the UK as to the correct names for the US parks and many people in the UK struggle to distniguish between the California and Florida resorts. There is a generational divide over the colloquial name for the complex in British English which has probably become more obvious over the ten years since the last comment. I do remember British adults referring to the complex as "Euro Disney" even after the name change but my generation was clear on the new name from its repeated use in the park's advertising. As children we referred to the complex as "Disneyland Paris" but when we got older we referred to it as just "Disneyland" if we already knew which one we were talking about. My school did refer to it as just "Disney" in a brochure for a residential trip to Paris probably because the age group of the pupils was clear on the post "Euro" name. Nowadays we mostly associate the word Euro with the single currency but also occasionally as an abbreviation for European. The re-naming of an existing venue is more controversial than the re-naming of a new venue and it is likely that younger generations we be clearer on any further name changes. - True, I did not actually know there was a California and Florida parks, I only thought there was one, it is the common conception that Disneyland Resort Paris is small in comparison to US parks, however any of those who have visited DLRP will know that it still makes for a great family holiday, can I ask why the park is divided up into several 'sub-parks' and not just one park of which it really is - it is all on the same site. wozza1 15:30 05 April 2006 (GMT)

The resort has 2 parks. Disneyland Park and Walt Disney Studios Park, although ajacent and both on the Disneyland Resort Paris site, are separate and distinct parks. They have separate entrances and admission charges, although their admission charges are identical and hopper tickets are available. Both have designated names for certain areas, although I would hesitate to label these sub-parks. Disneyland Park comprises Main Street, USA; Adventureland; Fantasyland; Frontierland; Discoveryland. Walt Disney Studios Park comprises Front Lot; Animation Courtyard; Production Courtyard; Backlot; Toon Studios (opens 2007). The purpose of these divisions is not to create sub-parks; it is merely a creative storytelling and theming tool. The reasoning behind this is that nothing in a Disney park should ever just be "plonked" or happen to be there; there should be a story behind every attraction that should compliment the overall story of the park itself. Attractions with complimentary themes are grouped together in a zone which is themed and named to create some coherence between neighbouring attractions. For example, Frontierland has a "wild west" theme and its attractions draw on aspects of this for their theming – Big Thunder Mountain is a variation on the runaway mine train type ride and is set in a wild west gold rush context. The replacement and addition of attractions has drawn criticism, in that they are often perceived to dilute the the teming of a partiular sub-division. For example attractions such as Legend of the Lion King, Buzz Lightyear Laser Blast and the re-theming of Space Mountain as Space Mountain: Mission 2 do not sit as comfortably with the original Jules Verne inspired 19th century European visionary theming of Discoveryland. The technique of sub-dividing parks is not unique to Disney but the emphasis on coherent theming over big thrill attractions is, many consider, what sets the Disney parks apart from the rest. Disney Village, which some people unfamiliar with the resort may confuse to be another theme park, is in fact a shopping, dining and entertainment area. IP 00:41, 7 April 2006 (UTC)

The article suggests that the selling of alcohol in restaurants was adopted from the beginning. Yet later on it is stated that "serving alcoholic beverages with meals inside the Euro Disneyland park" began in 1993. Which is it?Royalcourtier (talk) 08:15, 28 December 2015 (UTC)

Royalcourtier The text is still confusing. A radio interview on BBC with Fitzpatrick, in charge in the first year, said Disney would not serve alcohol. Now they do. When did the change occur? I do not know where to get accurate information. --Prairieplant (talk) 11:16, 7 February 2019 (UTC)

In the article body it states 4800 acres and in the sidebar it states 480 acres. You would think it's just a typo, but the square km conversion is also 10 times higher in the article body.
