Talk:Demographics of Latvia

Decline of the Latvian Population: Recognition & Causes

The article barely mentions the decline of the Latvian population since the fall of the Soviet Union and, more recently, the 2008 Financial Crisis. This omission needs to be rectified.

There are the graphs of course, but thanks for noting the article needs to be beefed up. VєсrumЬаTALK 22:22, 16 March 2013 (UTC)[reply]
These graphs overdramatize the situation due to arbitrary (subjective) selection of the Y axis values. The axis should start at 0 in order to be objective. — Preceding unsigned comment added by 176.106.164.223 (talk) 08:32, 12 July 2014 (UTC)[reply]
Sorry, how -30% is "overdramatization"? What is "dramatic" then? 50%? 100%? — Preceding unsigned comment added by 2A02:A45E:72A7:1:D4B5:9A37:CD0E:B878 (talk) 18:06, 19 December 2021 (UTC)[reply]
Comparing with Bulgaria, for example, it's not so bad, there are still Latvians left. 2A02:A45E:72A7:1:DABB:C1FF:FEAC:7283 (talk) 22:15, 29 December 2023 (UTC)[reply]

Orphaned references in Demographics of Latvia

I check pages listed in Category:Pages with incorrect ref formatting to try to fix reference errors. One of the things I do is look for content for orphaned references in wikilinked articles. I have found content for some of Demographics of Latvia's orphans, the problem is that I found more than one version. I can't determine which (if any) is correct for this article, so I am asking for a sentient editor to look it over and copy the correct ref content into this article.

Reference named "cia":

Dehumanization and Slurs

The article currently states:

"Illegal immigration in Latvia has traditionally been from neighboring countries such as Russia but now migrants also come from other areas such as Latin America, Southeast Asia and Africa.[4] The Latvian government have sought to work with Russia to stem the problem.[5] The Latvian government has been criticized for its treatment of illegals"

Dehumanization and slurs such as "illegals" violate human decency and npov.173.66.5.216 (talk) 21:01, 12 May 2017 (UTC)[reply]
