Since monday, march 16 and for 15 days, Peru is in national lockdown.

That is not reflected in the maps or the information written in this article.

I haven't seen any sources stating that the quarantine was seen as a 'reliev', neither on the ref link (RPP) nor on other local news outlets. Could that be clarified/sourced? I can't add the {{citation needed}} myself since the page is protected.

Hi, have been editing the numbers daily for this page for the past two weeks now (even though I just created this account, was doing it from my IP address before it became semi-protected) Numbers for March 30 -- 950 cases, 24 deaths. In a live conference, the president just stated there is a total of 1 746 confirmed cases, of which 285 are hospitalized, 88 are in ICUs, 799 recovered in self-isolation and 115 were released from health facilities, giving a total of 914 people who have recovered.--179.6.199.229 (talk) 17:32, 4 April 2020 (UTC)[reply]

Hi, the numbers for both tables that display the number of cases are in a non-standard format. A comma (,) and a dot (.) are used interchangeably as a thousand separator and this is confusing. I'd like to standardize the numbers to use a comma.

The article compares COVID-19 to the 2003 SARS event, claiming that the mortality rate of COVID-19 is much lower than SARS (~9%), but that COVID-19 has a much higher transmission rate. The implication is that COVID-19 may kill more people globally than SARS due to the sheer volume of those infected. Three key points should be carefully considered along with this assertion:

1.) As of 4/28/2020, mainstream media reports that COVID-19 tests used to confirm infection and thereby confirm transmission have been in a continuous short supply;^[1] and,
2.) To compensate for the lack of available tests, the US Center for Disease Control instructed the use of post-mortem code 702.a be used in generating Cause of Death for any/all individuals thought to have died of COVID-19, requiring no burden of proof even if there were tests in abundant enough supply to test cadavers;^[2] and,
3.) SARS infected 8096 people between November 2002 and September 2003 and (774) fatalities were officially recorded as related to the disease, with 19 out of 29 reporting countries having a 0% mortality rate, The United States included.^[3]

Just a minor issue, if the number of ICU beds at the start of the article could be updated, as several sources (both news outlets and official pages) indicate more were implemented by the end of April (1 and during the current month 2, 822 ICU beds 3, 1 000 4, 1 002, and it is stated in the infobox within the article itself (source at the bottom of reflist) that the number of patients in ICUs surpasses the 500 ICU rooms stated at the top.--179.6.199.229 (talk) 08:14, 18 May 2020 (UTC)[reply]

MINSA has corrected the deaths data. In its report N°111^[1], the data would be:

May 23: Active cases = 64 468 Total deaths = 3371 New deaths = 127

May 24: Active cases = 66 664 Total deaths = 3500 New deaths = 129

I was wondering if someone could edit the following statement at the start of the article ''The engineering and production is supplied by the Peruvian military'' to ''partly supplied'' or something similar, as only a portion of this equipment actually came from the military itself. Here are some dates and sources to give more detail to this issue:

• The first notice that we have of this issue comes from April 4th (1), and indicates that the president announced the military would start producing ventilators, and that the first ten would be ready for use in ten days (i. e. by April 14th or 15th) (2).
• On April 9th (2), EsSalud received ten ventilators repaired by the Navy, from a total of 38 that were previously on service at one of EsSalud's hospitals and needed repairs.
• On April 24th, the Health Ministry received eigth ventilators repaired by the Air Force.
• On May 16th, the Navy reportedly delivered the first ventilators produced by the military, that had been announced by the president about a month prior.*
• On May 29th, the Air Force received twelve ventilators as a donation from Germany.
• On June 4th, the Navy received twelve ventilators, also donated by Germany.
• On June 18th the Air Force brought five ventilators to Cajamarca to improve healthcare in that region; however, they weren't actually supplied by the military but by the Health Ministry. The Air Force only served as transportation as commercial flights, as you know, are mostly suspended.
• On June 21, the Health Ministry reportedly received 35 ventilators repaired by the Air Force.*
• Finally, on June 24th, the president announced the arrival of 400 ventilators from the PRC, to take place on June 30th.

* I hope someone can verify these two news via another source, since I'm not familiar with that portal.

In addition to what I mentioned above, it was reported that the Health Ministry had acquired 35 ventilators between March 18th and March 21th.

To put it short regarding the sources, while the military does/did aid in the supply of ventilators, by repairing already existing ones (which seems to be mostly the case) or by producing their own, the state has received this equipment from other sources as well, either by independent purchases by the healthcare authorities or by donations.--179.6.199.229 (talk) 09:27, 30 June 2020 (UTC)[reply]

A map has the caption "Confirmed deaths by COVID-19 per 100,000 inhabitants". If the caption and the map are correct that would have over 10% of the population having died over large areas of Peru, which is clearly wrong, so the data and/or map must be wrong. While officially confirmed COVID deaths are 34,000, which already makes Peru one of the worst-hit countries in the world, between March and September 2020 there were as many as 86,700 excess deaths in the country, according to the New York Times. I've noticed there is an issue with the reflist and other templates. Apparently, while editing, someone placed the templates with [[]] instead of {{}} and so, we've been left with internal links to the templates rather than with the actual templates on the article, and thus with no reference list. It's a deeper issue than that, unfortunately. There are so many templates being transcluded here that it's maxed out the WP:PEIS for the article. There's about two dozen similar COVID articles listed at Category:Pages where template include size is exceeded. I've added a note at the top of the article that gives immediate workarounds, but significant changes will need to be made to the article by those with more technical and/or subject-matter expertise than I have in order to fix this. ‑‑ElHef (Meep?) 15:44, 16 December 2020 (UTC)[reply]

The list of references may not be visible due to an excess of templates, especially in the "Cite web" and "Refn" templates that were hosted in the Daily Reports section. I have reduced the number of templates with a reference containing all the information, now I should display the reference list and portal bar in this article.
