Name confusion
This edit seems to beg for a second page for the second town. However, the deleted -- now restored -- citation for the mining town uses the identical name to this page. I don't have enough information (and too-slow internet for maximizing Google Maps) to determine how to distinguish between the two. I'm reluctant to do something like Bukit Merah (2), Perak and hope it won't come to pass despite my introduction of the idea here. I have to say (and this is an evolved, substantially revised comment by me on this subject on this page) I also wonder if the municipality for the Bukit Merah Lakeside Resort is the more significant name-holder. While the above-linked, unsourced edit calls the mining town "small," the citation on that town, eliminated from this article in the edit, gives the population of the mining town as 11,000. Can anyone provide a population of the resort town? Population-size could be one way to say which municipality has a better claim to the name. Is the resort perhaps the main feature of the present Bukit Merah, Perak, with a small population in a surrounding neighborhood? If so then I'd venture the current use of the article title is misplaced and should be transferred to the mining town.
To go a little further, the full address of the resort is listed on its website as:
- Bukit Merah Laketown Resort
- Jalan Bukit Merah
- 34400 Semanggol
- Perak Darul Ridzuan
- Taiping, Malaysia
Jalan Bukit Merah is the only place-name connecting the resort to the Bukit Merah name, in the address. In my first attempt at this, I wrote "Semanggol is a major road off which Jalan Bukit Merah is a dead end loop to the lake." I don't know if the map on the resort's address page linked to above has changed (seems unlikely) or if I just badly misread it the first time (a little weird but ...); I can't remember; but I now see Jalan Bukit Merah (as per the above, address link to the resort website) as a larger road off which the dead-end loop, unnamed, runs to the lake and the resort. And the Semanggol link, used in my earlier, quoted line, goes to this full-name page: Simpang Empat (Semanggol), Perak; which has little info, and nothing more to help us here. Could that be the village/neighborhood/town within Taiping, Perak where the resort lies and is listed at that Taiping link? Alas, I also don't remember ever seeing that full-name page for Semanggol. But, looking again back at the resort address, the "34400" I can now see as maybe being a postal code like a U.S. zip code, just in a different place within the address than a zip code would go; then, plausibly, Semanggol could well be such a municipality name. "Perak Darul Ridzuan" seems to be the full proper name of the Perak province. Perak Darul Ridzuan redirects to Perak, in Wiki. Having the province above the city name again makes it a different form of addressing than what I'm familiar with; and that's as far as I can take this.
I hope we can achieve two or more well-named articles to cover the municipality where the resort is located, the municipality where the mine is located, and any other municipalities that may come up (Semanggol, for example) in the process.
