Talk:British Columbia government debt

Neutrality

This very recent article is clearly written from the point of view that any debt is bad and any (purported) attempt to limit debt is good. It needs significant improvement to avoid failing WP:NPOV. —Joeyconnick (talk) 05:15, 2 May 2024 (UTC)[reply]

Text was added to counter the impression that all debt is bad, and the NPOV tag was removed. For example, arguments for increasing BC government debt in 2024 were added, as stated by Finance Minister Conroy. Text was also added to make it clearer why the budget-balance law was passed, and to indicate that the legislation to limit debt has been passed by governments from both major parties in BC: ie the NDP and Liberal parties. The article is also now clearer on why Finance Minister Robinson said the budget-balance law — although based on the law passed by the NDP in 2000 — was abolished by the NDP in 2022. Restored the NPOV tag... the recent edits have helped reduce but have not eliminated the problem. The article requires the incorporation of material from a greater variety of sources (i.e. across the political spectrum, not just those that fixate on spending increases and balanced budgets). —Joeyconnick (talk) 19:39, 4 May 2024 (UTC)[reply]

Removed NPOV tag, after making changes to ensure the article maintains a neutral point of view. Lukebayy (talk) 22:52, 17 May 2024 (UTC)[reply]
