I'd be interested if someone could provide details on how this work appeared in installments in The Bookman before publication in book form in 1928. There aren't enough months for that to happen, I wouldn't think. In what issues did it appear? Bmclaughlin9 (talk) 01:12, 7 July 2010 (UTC)[reply]

Someone reviewing this entry suggested the synopsis be shortened. It's long because the novel itself is long and also because there is considerable interest from historians of the period whose interests are best served IMHO by a fairly detailed synopsis.
