I checked the reference to three flowers in the French language Wikipedia article, and the page [1] did not list Besançon as one of the places with three flowers. In fact, it did not list Besançon at all. On the other hand, the article mentions 2007 and the reference is dated 2008. Coyets (talk) 10:12, 13 December 2010 (UTC)[reply]

Since few days somebody is adding in the articles of Besançon a reference to the city of Busan, in Korea. This person explain that Besançon, is pronunce as Busan-son, so that Besançon would be the daughter city of Besançon... This is completely false. Wikipedia is an encyclopedia, please don't put in it personnal thoughts or impressions. It's not because it sounds like Busan's son that it's correct. The origin of the name of Besançon comes from VESONTIO, the name of the city in the Ancient era, when it was a gallo-roman metropolis. During the fouth century, a B replaced the V of Vesontio, and the name of the city becam Besontio or Bisontion, and then several transformations took place untill 1243 when th name took his definitive form of Besançon. SO, IT HAS NOTHING TO DO WITH BUSAN!!!!!!!!! Wikipedrox

I have a question, why is the Spanish name referenced? I searched the article but could find no information as to why this occurred. 'Utinam' doesn't appear to mean 'God wills it.' It just means 'would that', 'if only' etc. etc. 'Deus Vult' would mean 'God wills it', and indeed, that's far more common.

There is a well-known astronomical observatory in Besançon, with its own Wikipedia entry, that should be mentioned. I'm not sure where it should go. Maybe someone more familiar with this article can post a comment and link. Bill Jefferys (talk) 03:07, 8 March 2016 (UTC)[reply]
