This is, of course, long done. --Kickstart70-T-C 19:12, 11 April 2006 (UTC)[reply]

Zentout's age

On 13 July 2008 a user claimed that Delphine Zentout was born in 1974 and that she was therefore 14, rather than 16, when this was filmed. There is no reliable source I could find that says she was born in 1974. But I did find plenty of newspaper references to her age being 16 when the film was made in 1987:

  • "Girl's Coming Of Age - Done The French Way" by Joe Pollack, St. Louis Post-Dispatch - June 2, 1989: "Delphine Zentout, only 16, portrays Lili, and she's outstanding."
  • "'36 Fillette' Eyes The Teen-Age Temptress" by Annette Insdorf, The New York Times - January 1, 1989: "Since the 40-year-old director portrayed her heroine's desire rather graphically and is the mother of a teen-age girl, didn't she feel guilty using a 16-year-old who had never appeared on screen before?"
  • "A Coming-of-Age Film That Steers Clear of Cliches" by Philip Wuntch, Dallas Morning News - February 24, 1989: "Lili is 14... Sixteen-year-old Delphine Zentout makes the assertive Lili as attractive as..."
  • "'36 Fillette' is a Long and Tormenting Tease from France", Buffalo News - March 17, 1989: "Delphine Zentout is a powerful presence as the 14-year-old (she was, by the way, 16 when the film was shot)."
  • Hal Hinson's review in The Washington Post http://www.washingtonpost.com/wp-srv/style/longterm/movies/videos/36fillettenrhinson_a0c8b5.htm says it's "about a 14-year-old girl's coming of age... The film's starlet is the feline Delphine Zentout, who was 16 when the movie was shot and was cast for her role as the tempestuous Lili solely on the basis of her ability to pull a loose strand of hair down the middle of her face, lower her chin and stare out seductively from under her brow."
  • Roger Ebert's review of "36 Fillette" at http://rogerebert.suntimes.com/apps/pbcs.dll/article?AID=/19890210/REVIEWS/902100301/1023 refers to "the performance by Zentout, a 16-year-old in her acting debut."

Based on the above sources, I'm changing her age back to 16 in the main article. —Preceding unsigned comment added by 63.22.27.89 (talk) 02:23, 9 February 2010 (UTC)[reply]
