Date of Dissolution

The Berlin Victory Parade of 1945 article states that the French were represented by the 2nd ID. This states the division was dissolved in 1940. Thoughts? MWFwiki (talk) 08:15, 6 July 2022 (UTC)[reply]

I checked an article by Paul Gaujac in the French magazine Militaria Magazine and The French Army 1939–45 (2) (Osprey Men-at-Arms 318), the divisions in May 1945 are the following:

    • 23rd ID (fr), on the Atlantic front
    • 25th ID (fr), on the Atlantic front
    • 36th ID (fr), training in South-East France
    • 3rd Armoured Div (fr), training in South-West France
  • Planned divisions:
    • 1st Far-East Colonial Division
    • 2nd Far-East Colonial Division
    • 29th ID (fr)
    • 24th Airborne
