Senganam is a village in the Avadaiyarkoil block of Pudukottai district,[1] Tamil Nadu, India.

Demographics

As per the 2001 census, Senganam had a total population of 695[2] with 351 males and 344 females. Out of the total population, only 483 people were literate.

Culture

The people of Senganam village follows the Tamil culture and they mostly follow the Christian religion. The church of St. Francis Xavier in Senganam is over 400 years old, it has been established by Aathy in 1606 AD. Aathy have had bought the whole land which is called in the name of Rama Sundhara Puram in 1571 AD. The church of St. Michael the Archangel is the main worshipping church in the village which has great festival in the month of September. Pongal has been celebrated in the fifth day of Thai month as village pongal festival. The people of Senganam was well trained in Kabadi and they are growing in education as well. In addition to Christian religion, Hindu religion is also followed by the people and they have famous by. Mariamtemple as their worshipping temple. The people of Senganam live in harmony as they are all related to each other's.age.
