The Second Battle of Katwa occurred between the Bengal Subah and the Maratha Confederacy in 1745.

Bengal had repelled a Maratha invasion three years earlier in 1742. The Maratha ruler of Nagpur, Raghuji Bhonsle, tried again in 1745, when he succeeded in occupying Orissa before his force of 20,000 horsemen ravaged Murshidabad and moved onwards to Katwa. There he was defeated by the Bengal army of Alivardi Khan.[1]
