Sarbaz County (Persian: شهرستان سرباز) is in Sistan and Baluchestan province, Iran. Its capital is the city of Sarbaz.[3]

At the 2006 census, the county's population was 162,960, in 31,449 households.[4] The following census in 2011 counted 164,557 people in 35,820 households,[5] by which time Ashar District had been separated from the county to participate in the formation of Mehrestan County. Murtan Rural District and Parud Rural District had been separated from the Central District in the establishment of Parud District, and Jakigur Rural District had been transferred from Pishin District to the Central District. Zardban Rural District had been established in Pishin District.[6] At the 2016 census, the county's population was 186,165 in 45,910 households.[2]

Administrative divisions

The population history and structural changes of Sarbaz County's administrative divisions over three consecutive censuses are shown in the following table. The latest census shows four districts, 11 rural districts, and three cities.[2]

After the census, Rask and Firuzabad Rural District, the city of Rask, Parud District, and Pishin District were separated from the county in the establishment of Rask County.

In September 2018, Kishkur Rural District, Minan Rural District, and Naskand Rural District were separated from Sarbaz District in the establishment of three districts of the same names. Sarbaz Rural District, Sarkur Rural District, and the city of Sarbaz were transferred from the district to the Central District.[3]
