Using the syntax {{Portal:Mecklenburg-Vorpommern/Image|x|y}} anyone can incorporate the image on his user pages.

• x is the px count of the desiered image width and y is the font size as a %age.
• Its positioning is deliberated not specified; you can specify that individually (by default, i.e. without an entry, the display floats left).
• The image above right is, for example, incorporated using <div style="float:right;"> {{Portal:Mecklenburg-Vorpommern/Image|300|100}} </div>.

Candidates for Image of the Month may be proposed at Portal:Mecklenburg-Vorpommern/Candidate Images. The subjects that may be proposed are not rigidly defined, but the image should just have something to do with the German state of Mecklenburg-Vorpommern and be linked to an article on English Wikipedia that relates to the state. Please note that photographs must meet certain minimum standards with regard to sharpness, etc.

The image should be changed monthly on the last day of the month. This may be done by any user. To do so:

• Select an image from the list of candidates and delete it from that
• Incorporate the image into the template, providing an alternative caption and link as required
• Add the old image to the archive (not essential, but helpful)
