Kapušany Castle

Kapušany (Hungarian: Kapi) is a village and municipality in Prešov District in the Prešov Region of eastern Slovakia.

History

In historical records the village was first mentioned in 1248.

Geography

The municipality lies at an altitude of 280 metres and covers an area of 11.3 km2 (4.4 sq mi) (2020-06-30/-07-01).[1]

Population

It has a population of about 2,264 people (2020-12-31).[2]

Popular Image

It is well known internationally through the popular polka tune, "Ja parobok z Kapušan" ("I am a bachelor from Kapusany").
