Gigaset AG, formerly known as Siemens Home and Office Communication Devices, is a German multinational corporation based in Bocholt, Germany. More active in the area of communications technology, it manufactures DECT telephones.

On April 5, 2024, Vtech Holdings Limited completed its acquisition of the company.[2]

History

Gigaset Communications was established on 1 October 2008, when Arques Industries [de], a private equity firm, acquired 80.2% equity interest in Siemens Home and Office Communication Devices GmbH & Co. KG (SHC) from Siemens AG for 45 million euros.[3][4]

Subsequently, the firm became controlled by the Goldin Group (>70%), being controlled by the Hong Kong businessman and entrepreneur Pan Sutong.[5] Gigaset AG was listed on the Prime Standard of Deutsche Börse and its shares were traded on the Frankfurt Stock Exchange (ISIN: DE0005156004).

In 2017, it had 930 employees, revenue of 293 million Euro and sales activities in approximately 70 countries.[6] In January 2024 it was announced that Gigaset and its assets would be acquired by VTech;[7][8] that transaction was completed three months later.
