I think there was a mistake deleting this image.

In the deletion discussion, the rationale given by the nominator (and the only participant in the discussion) was This isn't a screenshot of one of the movies, it's a screenshot of a non-free desktop filled with folders containing those movies. Does not add to the understanding of the article that it is in.

This is not true. This really is a screenshot of Earth Station 5 movies application. It just looks like a Microsoft Windows desktop because the interface to the piece of software is designed to have a "desktop within a desktop" appearance.

This is a minimal static screenshot of an unmaintained, unavailable, interactive piece of software by a defunct company. It is used to illustrate an article about the topic and is not replaceable (it may not even be possible to take the screenshot again). To the extent that this image or the material in it is copyrightable, it is clearly usable under WP:NFC/WP:NFCC.

To the extent that these facts were not clear in the image description or the fair use rationale, I apologize and take responsibility. But given this misunderstanding, I believe that this page should not have been deleted and should be restored. If the nominator and/or deleting administrator still feels it should be deleted, I'm happy to take this case to deletion review or another FfD. At the very least, we should discuss this case on its merits and not a misunderstanding of what the image is actually representing. —mako๛ 14:52, 20 January 2012 (UTC)[reply]

Okay. I'm fine with it being undeleted then. Thanks for calmly and logically explaining your arguments, and not taking this whole thing personally. I've done a major update of the description and rationale. Things should be much clearer now. I've also tried to make sure that I use the "new" templates so that finding the right information should be easier. I'm glad we were able to sort this all out! —mako๛ 18:19, 25 January 2012 (UTC)[reply]
