Poster upload revert

Darkwarriorblake. The poster I uploaded is Australian. You see that little red rating in the bottom left corner? That's how you can tell an Aussie poster. Here's a high-res version for your perusal. Wikipedia uses the poster from the country of origin/country with the strongest ties to the film. Can we agree to switch back to the correct poster so as not to start an edit war? Cheers — Film Fan 23:31, 15 January 2016 (UTC)[reply]

Per the lead and infobox, the film is American and Australian, so there is no reason that an Australian poster would take priority. Additionally the purpose of the infobox image is not to serve some nationalistic notion but to easily identify the film. The added poster is also not a release poster since it says "coming soon" on it, so it wasn't even a recent poster, and I know the age rating is on it, this is something I took issue with in my edit summary. So no, I do not agree to the use of the modified poster. Darkwarriorblake / SEXY ACTION TALK PAGE! 23:41, 15 January 2016 (UTC)[reply]
All right, I see you won't be won over so I'll move this to the main article talk. — Film Fan 00:06, 16 January 2016 (UTC)[reply]

Why are you reverting to the poster with credits, Darkwarriorblake? The final theatrical poster is the one with the date and rating, as always. Sometimes it has credits too, sometimes not. The rating is the biggest giveaway. — Film Fan 00:10, 26 March 2017 (UTC)[reply]

Per the lead and infobox, the film is American and Australian, so there is no reason that an Australian poster would take priority. Additionally the purpose of the infobox image is not to serve some nationalistic notion but to easily identify the film. The added poster is also not a release poster since it says "May 15" on it, and I know the age rating is on it, the rating is not important at all to the poster or the article. So no, I do not agree to the use of the modified poster. The existing image also identifies several characters that cannot be done entirely via free images. The replacement image is being chosen either for nationalistic reasons or because it looks cooler, neither of which is an acceptable reason.Darkwarriorblake / SEXY ACTION TALK PAGE! 23:41, 15 January 2016 (UTC)[reply]
None of that is true. It's actually the theatrical poster, while your upload is not. You don't just pick the poster that you feel identifies the film best - you use the theatrical release poster. — Film Fan 00:22, 26 March 2017 (UTC)[reply]
So what makes it the release poster? The date and the rating? What makes it more of a release poster than:
  • http://www.impawards.com/intl/australia/2015/mad_max_fury_road_ver12_xlg.html
  • http://www.impawards.com/intl/australia/2015/mad_max_fury_road_ver10_xlg.html
You want that poster because it's what you prefer, and I don't care about what you prefer, I'm against it and you're not going to change my mind nor I yours, so get other people involved at Wikipedia talk:WikiProject Film if you care so much and see what they think.
