File talk:Google Street View coverage.png

I am very pleased to see this map updated but I would still like to see Alderney, China, Egypt, Guernsey, Jordan, Morocco, and Turkey coloured light orange because Google has made tentative plans to develop Street View in these countries. Colombia and Gibraltar should be coloured light blue because Google has made official plans to introduce Street View there. The Isle of Man and Jersey should be coloured dark blue because they already have Street View coverage. I like the way Austria, Greece, and India have been made striped green and light blue because they only have museum views but Google has made official plans to introduce full Street View there. I also like the way that lines have been drawn connecting the contiguous parts of countries to any exclaves or offshore parts of those countries to indicate that they are part of the same country.

Austria?

In contrast to what the graphic tells us, there's no kind of coverage in Austria. -- 80.121.131.11 (talk) 13:48, 23 December 2012 (UTC)[reply]

Germany

Germany is currently marked "full or partial coverage planned" just like a bunch of other countries. This is technically true, at least given your available categories. But as I interpret your categories, light blue means "on the way to full blue" - countries where Google is just getting started; where full coverage is not yet accomplished.

In reality the light blue marking of Germany is severely misleading: only a handful of cities are covered with no plans for expansion or updating. Furthermore, not only is the coverage increasingly out of date, it is also possible for German citizens to opt out of the coverage, leading to blotches of unusable blurriness.

Because the country is thus mostly left uncovered I argue the most accurate depiction would be simply to leave it gray (with a footnote or asterisk), or possibly striped gray / light blue (as a new category). In 2010 light blue would have been the proper category for Germany, but ever since 2011 the map should quickly clue in the viewer on how Google has abandoned its plans altogether. Mexico

Mexico does not have full coverage yet. — Preceding unsigned comment added by 81.204.100.196 (talk) 14:19, 27 May 2013 (UTC)[reply]

Tanzania

The map needs to be updated, Tanzania isn't on the coverage list. 75.64.135.46 (talk) 20:24, 9 June 2013 (UTC)[reply]

full / partial

The dark and light blue colours are inconsistent. Japan is labeled as "partial coverage" and Botswana as "full", although the reality is quite the opposite. User332572385 (talk) 15:51, 10 September 2013 (UTC)[reply]

Argentina

Argentina has the same coverage as Mexico. Please, update this!

Turkey

I didn't find an article talking about Street View was filming turkish streets. There is nothing but a single photo--Yaircohen90 (talk) 01:33, 7 July 2015 (UTC)![reply]

Jordan

As of yesterday, Jordan has officially partial coverage in 30 locations... Can someone kindly update Jordan from orange to light blue?[1]
